Setting Boundaries Without Burning Bridges

A boundary is not a wall. It is a clear statement of what you can offer and what you cannot, made early enough that nobody has to guess.

Vagueness is what damages relationships, not limits. Saying I can take this on next week, but not today is kinder than an overcommitment you quietly resent.

Expect discomfort the first few times. People used to unlimited access will test a new limit. Holding it calmly, without over-explaining, is what teaches them it is real.

Boundaries at work also protect the work. Rest, focused hours, and a clear end to the day are what make sustained good judgement possible.
